It started with jazz. But it wasn’t REALLY about jazz.

. . and to be honest. That took a moment to figure out.

Sometimes things aren’t what they appear on the surface. Sure jazz was great, but what was really inspiring was people. It was authenticity and connection and excitement.

All those things AND a little jazz on top!

It was watching people dance and smile and hug and talk. What started as a place to listen to jazz and feel accepted (all mixed together) started to settle out - to separate like a mixture of oil and water.

Soon, after seeing it enough, and a little self-reflection, we could look at connection and jazz separately.

What if Dizzy Charlie’s was bigger than just jazz? What if it was about bringing people together to feel something? To feel connected, to feel seen, to feel accepted?

This was a simple, but profound realization.

What if we can focus our vision on helping connect people - giving them a place and a reason to meet, get curious, and go deeper?

We’ve all seen the studies about the quality of life being dramatically improved by relationships. Isolation, depression, and disconnection not only take a toll on our health, but frankly they just suck.

No one wants that.

So what would it be like if we started small, and gave our community a reason to meet?

It’s not like we can do it for everyone, but we can set the table.

Could that happening in enough places on enough of a regular basis actually be enough to change people’s lives?

Could it be enough to change our community?

Could it be enough to make us live longer, to breath easier, to enjoy our days here in a richer way?

Yes. It can, and that’s the deeper reason Dizzy Charlie’s exists.
